We would like to thank Sharon and Genny for all of their help guiding us through the college application process. Sharon reviewed and explained all the elements of the common app. She set up a schedule and gave our son assignments with deadlines. Genny helped our son with ideas for the essay and helped him formulate a cohesive story. Our son’s early application submissions resulted in early acceptances by multiple universities. Sharon and Genny took the stress out of senior year from both a parent and student perspective. When our son received his first acceptance, he shared that he no longer had to worry because he was definitely going to college. We had no idea this was a concern. He will be attending his first choice university in the fall. Thank you Sharon and Genny!

"My daughter was "stuck" and was putting off writing her essay applications, but had to have her applications done by the Early Action deadlines of late Oct and early Nov. Whenever I asked her how it was going, or offered help she was snappish and moody. A friend suggested hiring a counselor to help Lily write her essay, so I reached out to Genny Allard, and that simple gesture made all the difference. Genny worked with Lily to get her to think of, and write "her story", rather then some cliched college essay. Genny came to the house several times, to work with Lily, shared ideas and brainstormed with her on what Lily wanted her college essay to convey. Lily shared various versions of her essay with Genny via Google Docs even outside of the times of their scheduled meetings. I think that is what I most appreciated about Genny's service- she made herself available to Lily throughout the entire process. In the end, Lily wrote an engaging, well written and thoughtful college essay in her own voice. I would highly recommend Genny to any family of a college bound student, as it is money well spent and alleviated a great deal of family stress during an already stressful process. Lily now just has to decide which of the 5 Universities she was accepted at to go to!

"Genny really helped me with my college essay. I didn't know what to write about and just couldn't make myself sit down and start. The whole process was so frustrating that I kept putting it off and refused to let my parents help me. I was stuck. Genny really helped me figure out what I wanted to convey through my essay and made writing it much less stressful and a lot more enjoyable. As we talked and worked on my essay, she also made me feel much more optimistic about the college process in general! Genny saved my college application experience from being an incredibly stressful disaster and was one of the most helpful resources during the process!"

“My son had a fantastic experience working with Sharon on his college essay and application leading to a successful early decision acceptance! In only a couple of sessions he was able to create an essay he was proud of. I can’t express how delightful it was having Sharon’s help from a parental standpoint – it completely eliminated the stress of the process. I wish we could have had her assistance when our older two kids were applying to colleges!”

“At first I was not too confident with my college essay, but Sharon helped me come up with new ideas to make it the best it could be. Each time we ended a session, I felt relieved and less stressed about the college process.”

"The college application process was definitely not what I had expected it to be. Having a daughter who is self motivated and extremely bright, I thought that this would be just like any other academic challenge that she had faced during high school . She was a student that worked independently and never needed outside tutoring or help . This however proved to be somewhat of a challenge. I was not worried about her writing abilities but she was struggling with what should she write about. What essay topic would best showcase her strong points? Time was also a factor. She was starting this process much later than I had hoped. Then we met Genny and she helped my daughter organize her thoughts and focus on an essay topic . After that came the essay questions specific to each college and the application itself. Sharon was amazing and was there for support and guidance during the rest of the application process. I am not sure how we would have gotten through all of this without their help!!"
